Today Tenz slept in his cradle in his own room...he hasn't done that before. He was pretty adorable. He slept for several hours and I heard him cry when he woke up, but he wasn't screaming crazily, just a few loud screetches to let me know he was awake. Then, he also slept ont he couch and that is the other picture. He is wearing his "I'm New Here" onsie and just sleeping with his mouth wide open.

There are 3 main thing today: 1. Sick 2. Laugh 3. Bottle. So, lets just go in order, shall we? First, We are all sick in the belly and have some gas coming out both ends and a little muddy butt here and there. The baby has it too, even tho his poo is usually liquid and it is harder to tell, but when it is an odd green and the consistancy of water it is pretty easy to tell. He has been fussy and not eating and not sleeping well all day...to such and extent we were worried and took his temperature. Poor baby with his first anal probe and poor mama who had to do it! :-s
Second, laugh. In a brief time of happy baby after he had had a nap we were watching Glee and I was singing and doing baby hands with him and he was smiling and smiling and then he laughed! A real, true laugh! Then, we kept singing and dancing and he laughed a few more times. What a great sound! That cute little baby laugh squeal thing! Third and finally, bottle. Today as Pete was feeding him Tenz grabbed at the bottle like he usually does but this time he grabbed on and held up the bottle himself. Ha! So cute and it wasn't a fluke, he held it for long enough for Pete to call me in and then for us to get a picture. This is several minutes of him holding his own bottle. Our little 6 week old does not want to be a baby but a big boy!! Little baby is getting so big! He looks less and less like a newborn everyday, but he is still cute. We went to Thor today and Monks was so good. He just sat their and smiled and slept. He did react to all the loud noises, not by crying or anything, just jumped a little and looked around with big eyes. He is big enough for his Star Wars onsie, so he wore that today. I am afraid he has a small cold or allergies? He has always been congested and would sneeze occassionally, but today he has sneezed repeatedly and a lot in a row. He has also had a small cough. We have been monitoring his temperature, and he isn't fevered...so he has allergies or a head cold. Not sure which one, but I'm hopeful he will rest up well and be well tomorrow.
Aunt Shelley and Uncle John came up to see Les Miz this weekend so they got to meet cute babyTenzin. He was adorable and they fell in love...he is such a charmer! He continues to respond to sounds and our voices and to hold our fingers with his little hands. Such fun. He is eating a ton and sleeping a lot more, he is probably on the verge of a growth spree. How big will he get now? So crazy how much, and quickly, he is changing. He loves to lay on Pete's chest and lift his head up and shake his head back and forth, such a little turtle! It is cute, cute, cute! doesnt' come
Yesterday we were goofing around and I squished his eyes and he looks like a baby chunk. We laughed so hard that I as crying and Pete was weezing. It just doesn't come through on pictures, but it was super funny. The day Pete has been waiting for has come! Monks is becomiing alert! He has been jumping (not actually, but reacting) to loud noises like his buckle on his car seat clicking or the car door slamming or things like that. He has also become aware of both mine and Pete's voices and when he hears them, he looks towards us. Specially when Pete gets home after a day of him hearing just me. He has also been smiling. It isn't gas, it is a very clear smile when he is talked to or gets a little tickle or hug he smiles. I tried to get pictures, but it never works. He is a little smiler. Then today, on top of all these little things, Pete did his daily test and held him upside down and he reacted! He didn't giggle or squeal, but he did react and make a face and look around like he knew something was up. He was so happy! Pete, not Tenz. He is also going thru a growing streak...he is eating and eating and eating and sleeping and sleeping and sleeping. He is adorable and I can't imagine how big he will get this time! Not even sure I'll be able to carry him in his carseat!
I call little Tenz Monk... there are many reasons for this, which just makes it all the more right. First, when we found out he was a boy, the thing I wanted for him was a sock monkey. He now has 2 sock monkeys and a sock monkey blanket. When he got home from the hospital, I put him in the blanket and called him my little sock monkey (partially because he had his uncirced penis still...). He is also super, super furry. His back and shoulders are still very hairy. Plus, he sticks his little butt in the air and looks like a baby monkey in a diaper. Then, he did his little leg folded over thing and his Buddha fingers and legs and so he was a Tibetan Monk (plus, his name is Tibetan and lots of monks are named it). Finally, he has the Friar Tuck hairline right now (I tried to take pics of it, but not sure if it shows?). He has a bald spot on the top of his head, hair on his forehead and on the back but a big large bald spot. It is prl OCD etty funny. Finally... I call him Monk becuase he makes me a little Monk-like. I am all aware of every sound and smell and bump or discoloration on his body. Everyone seems surprised that I am not calling him Jeep, since that is what I wanted to name him...but Monk just seems all the better. Designer babies! Pete had a wild idea to put Tenz in the diaper bag. He looks just like a little puppy in a bag...Pretty cute! The pci of Pete holding him up is the best of all! The final pic is of Tenz napping with his head laying off the edge of the couch. Dad puts him in such silly ways to nap!
He was a super pooper today. He went poop about 10 times today...once was a huge blow out. Poor Aunt Holly! He didn't go but a few times yesterday, so I guess he made up for it today. I hope he is OK and that my milk wasn't giving him an upset tummy? These pictures are the super cutest! Well, they aren't but his actions are! When he wakes up he stretches and smiles and makes all these Toddlers and Tiaras movements with his hands around his face like he is in some sort of pageant. He is super, super cute and I tried to capture it. I think this is a time to video tape this action. But I can't load it up here anyway, but I will put it on Facebook.
Tenz has good sleeping habits...the house next door is under going some major renovations and here it is, 9 at night and they are pounding and pounding and he still fell asleep. Not to mention today, on the way home from school he was a little fussy and not really crying but squeaking and I turned up Lady Gaga's Track 7, Shiessa, in the car on the way home and he quieted right down. He was listening to all the things around him whilst he was in my belly and his first concert ;-D. All of the good schedule that he has been on is gone now...he isn't eating as much so he isn't sleeping as long and eats little bits here and there. The book says to make sure they have a full meal, but how can you make sure when they just stop eating? You can't. So, we have back tracked a little, but I think that is good as he was gaining weight so quickly. Backing off to 3 ounces a sitting is probably better for his little belly. But he isn't sleeping as long and that is hard to get used to. I mean, I was mentally ready for the every 2 hour gig when he came out, but in the last 5 weeks he has trained me that I can have a nap and do some chores and watch some TV all while he is taking his afternoon nap...so now it kinda sucks. He is also starting to make noises. Not crying or anything, but just baby noises and louder blurt outs. It is pretty adorable but it is alarming sometimes because I think he is in pain or something, but when I look at him he is just happy as a clam.
We have a busy day at school tomorrow, I am going with a bunch of 7th graders to bind their final projects...not sure how long it will take or how the baby will be, but we are giving it a chance. Little baby bunting will be 5 weeks old tomorrow! Crazy, crazy days! He has had a rough day today, his naps have been really fretful and short. Makes for a hard day for us all... But he is adorable and is trying to learn to roll over, but he uses his head as the muscle to do so. It is pretty funny. Also, he is such a funny waker upper...he squirms and stretches and makes squeaky sounds. I need to try and record some of these things to video, cuz they are pretty funny!
