Today was startling! I was changing Tenz after his 5 am feeding and he looked up at me and smiled and I realized he looked different. Overnight his little face became broader, flatter, and his features more pronounced. It was a big change, just over night! I am not sure if you can see it, but it happened and it is crazy. Crazy to think that he is changing so fast, night by night, day by day! He is getting a little less good about being picked up, he is expecting to be held more and I am worried that we have spoiled him a little. They say you can't spoil him at this age, but I am wondering. The more places we go and the more that people hold and pass him around, the more he wants to be held.
We are getting right back on schedule and not just being around the house all day...the problem with that is money. it costs money to leave the house :-( boo. Anyway, took A, T & Abi to the airport, then met Meagan for decaf coffee and a chat, then came home and did some chores and such, then met Tabz and Jane at Blue Iguana to count the votes of the student election. The problem with all this busyness is that Tenz gets off schedule and that is bad for the nights. We have the Pedals for Hope charity ride tomorrow so I hope he sleeps tonight... His trash thing seems to be getting worse not better, I am not sure if I should call the doctor or not? I guess some research is in order. I got the announcements this week, so I need to start sending them out. Tenz also had his first bath, bath today. He was quite poopy and just needed to be dunked much more than just a sponge bath, so with his circ healed and his umbilical healed, it was high time for a dunking bath. As you can see, he didn't love it, but he also didn't hate it or scream or anything...the whole bath long. So that is good.
We took Abi & Tenz to the mall today... you can see the carosel in the background. We walked around and that was about it. Not like Tenz cares, but he is being good about being out in public and that is nice. We also took family pictures and pics of Abi and Tenz together. I hope some of them turn out. It rained and rained again today, so we didn't make it to the zoo again. They leave tomorrow, so I guess we'll have to go next time. Tenz's bumps seem to be getting worse? I am not sure if I should take him back to the doctor? He told me they were ok and he'd grow out of them, which seems to be true, and then they come back. I am concerned. Anyway... I am really, really tired and need a huge rest but who knows when I am going to get it? Next week is my last free week and I have A LOT to do to finish things up for the end of school and prep for the SLCC class and such. Classes start on the 6th and it has
We took the baby to school today, cuz I had to meet with the new LA teacher, and he got passed around to all the loving adults and was coddled and held and rocked and shimmied all morning long...which left him completely exhausted in the afternoon. We were supposed to go to the zoo with Tim, Amy, Abi, but it was raining like crazy so we put that on hold. T had a huge nap and that let mom have a great nap too. It was nice. it was good to get up and be out of the house, but at the same time, it was exhausting! Oy!
Pete wanted Tenz to dress up like him, so he wore plaid and sandals and socks. Ha! So here are the cutest pictures of that.
Poorest baby is cursed with hiccups. He had them when he was in my belly, and he has them now. They stop him from being able to settle down and sleep. I feel awful for him. He is a month old (date to date) tomorrow and his little face has changed so much already. He is looking more and more like a little old man everyday. He has this scowly old man face and then he has this sweet baby boy face. I took a bunch of pictures trying to capture the difference. Maybe you can't see it cuz I am just imagining it...but I see it everyday. He has been eating less, but is still growing and moving and having a lot of awake time. He is still a sweet natured boy who doesn't cry or fuss a lot.
Cousin Abi is visiting and Pete is so excited to see Tenz when he gets that age and interacts and smiles and claps and such. There is a pic of her thrown in...hope you can tell the difference ;-P
Today was a busy day. Amy, Tim and Abi are here so we went to lunch, Shane Co., Holly's, and to Ikea. Abi loves to pet Tenz and she is so interested in him and what he is doing every second... They are pretty cute together. We need to get pictures of these two little guys together.
Then, it was Ms. Tere's birthday, so we went to sushi and Tenz was passed around and got all sorts of loves and pampering. He just loved it. He wore these cute jeans today, I am not sure if you can really see them in the pic or not, but they are cute. I have some pics on the camera, but it is down in the car so they will have to go up tomorrow.
The bad news is after all this goings ons tonight, I am super sore and super, super tired. I need to get my stamina back up! Anyway, Zoo on Wednesday and I am taking Sabrina. Fun-times!
Aunt Amy, Uncle Tim, and cousin Abi came in today. Super exciting. Abi is super interested in him and his small little self. We didn't have any socks at Sizzler, so Tenz wore Abi's and she plucked them off his feet. So funny. I came home from picking them up and there was Pete with T draped across his knee as he was playing video games. Also super funny. I took a pic of it, but cuz of the blinds, Pete's head disappeared and it is this totally wierd light head playing video games with a baby on his knee. Great picgture.
Baby T is nearly a month old! How crazy is that! I can't even believe it has been that long but at the same time, I feel like it has been forever...weird thing this time bid'ness. So today was daddy's birthday and so we were busy bees and T was great thru it all. We made him breakfast in bed (eggs ala dina- which no one has ever had cuz dina never makes breakfast...) and muffins and juice. Then, Amazon left his present outside the door where anyone could steal it, not that happy about that, but anyway. We saved up all our allowances since before he was born so we could buy him the Rock Band 3 guitar that has real strings so you can really play guitar. It was a splurge, but he deserves it. I am annoyed tho because only 1/2 of it showed up! The guitar came, butt not the game or the adapter. Lame. So he fiddled around with the guitar, but couldn't actually start playing. Then Tenz's plastibell finally fell all the way off. His little weewee is a bit stinky and has some pus? I am hopeful this is all still OK. I would never hear the end of it, or feel OK, if there were a complication. I have been looking it up online and it seems that we are still normal, but I won't feel better until it LOOKS normal too! Then we went up to Gramma & Grampa Weckers for a delicious bday dinner. Uncle Nate and Aunt Kelly were there and a good time was had by all. We then left to go and visit Pete's cousins and their families that were in town. There is a super cute pic of Akiko (sp) Sorry Yuki! Holding Tenz, but it is on Pete's phone and he is asleep, so I'll add that tomorrow. But for tonite, here is his whale theme outfit of the day. The shirt has a whale on it and says Little Squirt and his whale blankie that he is too big to be swaddled by anymore... And one of him looking like a mishapen hotdog on daddy's lap...Please note that he is facing out and not towards dad's chest. Yes, even tho that LOOKS like a little chubby bum, it isn't. HA! So cute. Also, ignore that daddy isn't wearing a shirt and looks a little WT, it was hot when we finally got home ;-)
We went to a movie tonite...Tenz was great. He just slept thru most of it and laid there quietly when he was awake. There were a few moments that he was a little fussy and whimpered a little, but not for long. He is such a good baby, I hope he stays that way and we don't spoil and ruin it ;-P. Our day was pretty basic, he is staying awake more and more and has been working on turning over. The unfortunate thing is the Plasticbell ring on his penis is starting to fall off, but it is gross. It is all super red and only partially attached. Blah. I want it to fall all the way off just so I can tell if it is healing or not. I called the doctor's office and they said it should fall off today or tomorrow by my description...it hasn't fallen off yet tonite, so I am hopeful.
Ordered announcements today from Shutterfly and I'm excited to see them!
I am a first time mom in my mid-thirties. This is to share pictures and daily info about our precious little newborn son, Tenzin.
