Tenz went with mom and dad on their anniversary date tonight. He was really good in the movie and sooo sleepy at dinner, but he was fascinating with all the people walking by and kept trying to charm them with his laughs and giggles. He has been having a laughing day...I put a video up on FB of his laughing. I can't put it up here because of stupid Weebly rules, but look it up of FB if you haven't seen it. It is adorable. He was having a great day. Our trip starts tomorrow, super excited for him to see Zion (even if he doesn't remember...).

I had the Praxis this morning and baby woke up at 330 again...it sucked, for Pete. Then, I went home and slept for 3 hours and so did sweet baby. He has been asleep a lot today and eating a ton of 8 ounce bottles in between. He is crazy town! I think formula isn't filling him up enough and it will be good when we can start adding some rice cereal to it. We have his 4 month appt after the 18th and that is when we can start that. My last SLCC class is Monday and then we are going on our anniversary trip/summer vaca. We are going to go meet Aunt Katie and Becca in Cedar then down to SG to see The Little Mermaid and Great Aunt Shel and Uncle John will get to spend time with sweet baby. We will then go take hella pictures of my baby in Zion and visit the aunts again on Thursday. Tenz has
Day with mommy whilst daddy was out playing...We did errands and studied and he is fully abreast of all the big wigs in educational theory. Good job baby. We then "relaxed" and went to The Smurfs with the Burns and Rabin's...it is always so good to see cute Lav (who is almost 2) and see where this little guy is heading. Maybe less fun to see the ages of 6, 11, and 13, but oh well. He is fully in the midst of his oral phase. Everything has to go into his mouth ASAP. He also gave his mom a hickey on her arm today, nice work baby!
Not much going on today... I studied for the Praxis and dad and baby had a relaxing day at home. He loves his Bimbo chair and ready to sit and stand up.
Sweet baby is having a sleeping problem. Ugh. He woke up at 3am and thought it was morning and he didn't go back to sleep. He then took cat naps all day. I am not sure what this no sleeping kick is, but it is not fun. He went to bed a few minutes ago because he was so tired and rubbing his eyes and grumpy. Here's hoping he doesn't wake up at 3 again!! I made a list today and I have 25 things to get done in the next few weeks. And none of that includes normal things like laundry and dishes and eating or dealing with a sleepless baby...OY!
So...this baby couldn't get comfy and complained and whined and wiggled around until he found this position that made him comfy and he just stayed that way.
Sweet baby really missed his papa and spent almost all day in his arms...not even taking a break to nap. He was super happy with his new chair from Aunt Amy. He did spend a little time resting on mom...but just not as much as papa.
Baby was super happy to be home with dad. As was mom. Dad took all care of baby and mom unpacked and did this blog post (weew!) and napped...aghhh. Good to be home! This was his sad face on the plane. He was awake the whole flight home and this is all he did at all the noise at landing.
Baby's first time to the airport and on a plane! This story is a doozy! and I will try my might best to tell it without using a slew of profanity, but I'm warning you now, I may not be able to contain it as that is how high my rage is...even three days later. Pete drops us off at the Southwest Skycap and we get all checked in. I am left with the baby in his carseat and his diaper bag. I didn't take the stroller because I wanted to "pack light" this was my first error. So I walk to security, and I am already tired from carrying this heavy guy, but I ask the first person I see if I need to take him out of his seat or what, I told him it was my first time flying and I didn't know. He just pointed me to a line. So I thought, OK, maybe this is a family line or something. So I go and ask the next person and he very rudely tells me, "Yes" all rude and impatient. So I take off my shoes and put the liquids in their own tray and put the diaper bag and unbuckle Tenz and get him out of his seat. I send the seat thru the scanner, as I was told to do, and the TSA agent yells at me, "You have to turn it upside down! Now I have to stop the conveyor belt!" then he started mumbling about people shouldn't be allowed to travel with babies and that they are always holding up the line. The guy behind me, bald, tattooed and fairly young with a little girl says, "Hey guy, you don't have to be a dick!" and he turns the carseat over for me...seeing that I have my hands full. So it goes thru and they walk me thru and I go to the other side and there is a little girl getting her shoes on in front of me, so the line is kinda backed up, so I place my shoes on the ground and put the liquids in the diaper bag. The conveyor belt is not moving (again, cuz of the family ahead of me) and I set Tenz in his seat for 5 seconds, and I am holding on to it because I am not stupid and I know it can move at any second, but I also know that I can't grab my diaper bag and the carseat if I still have the baby in my arms. Just as I am about pick him up (I wasn't trying to strap him in) I hear, "BABY ON THE BELT! TURN IT OFF! BABY ON THE BELT!!!" and a guy is there in 2 seconds lecturing me on how dangerous it is. I just agreed and didn't even try and tell him that I had my hand on it and that I couldn't grab it any other way. So I apologized and picked him up. Then, the guy who yelled at me at first starts complaining about babies and not having a clue how to go thru security and on and on. I replied that maybe there should be some kind of instruction. I was so angry and upset I wanted to turn around and go home right then. I was hot. I was tired. I had a bladder infection. and I had just been harassed by security. I stop and get him buckled in and walk clear down to the basement gate of B15. I could smell poor baby was poopy. So I go into the bathroom and there is no baby changer that far down. What?! We are in Utah for the sake of all that is holy! The baby making capitol of the freaking world!!! Ugh. So I have to lay him on the bathroom floor. Yep, and that means I have to sit on it as well. He had pooped all the way up to his neck. No special outfit for Grama Weez. I changed him, on the floor. He was a happy baby, but I was not a happy mama. The rest of the trip was uneventful. He slept the whole way and I took the last two pics mid air. Tenz met all sorts of women folk in Reno. We went to Aunt Jessica's store and met Great Gma Black, Aunt Jessica, cousin Zephyr, Uncle Troy, and Aunt Carla...plus saw Gma Weez. Then we went and ate at Miguel's...somewhere he is going to go every time he visits Reno, so he may as well get used to that. He met Miss Chris and Lew there, but we didn't get a pic :-(. Then we drove all the way out to Gardnerville to Aunt Jo Linda's house. There, he meet his 2nd cousin Jamie and Great Aunt Jo. So, so many people to love him! After a long, long day, we went to Aunt Amy's and went to bed. The next morning, we watched Abi and gave her her birthday present. Tenz is only 3 pounds lighter than Abi, even tho 9 months younger, and she is just a hair taller. The cousins were adorable together!! Abi wanted to love him by gouging out his eye!! We then visited Ms. Chris and Ms. Melissa...but we didn't get pics of that either. He was laughing and smiling. Being a sweet baby. Then, in the heat of the day we went and got Great Gma Kehm and cousins Emmy and Neveah and off to the park. We took tons of pictures of all the babies together and wandering around and all the girls of the family (on that side) together. Gma Weez had gotten Abi & Tenz little E.T. onsies (too big from them) but still really cute babies in the summer grass. Then, we went home and had some pizza for din-din then beautiful Aunt Angie came over! Yay! Tenz had a diaper full ready for her to get some practice in!! She overwhelmed him with all her loves for alittle bit. Then we were off to bed. He slept for nearly 12 hours...he was so, so tired baby. Finally, we got up early to go to the aeroport to flyaway home and see daddy. Aunt Amy was showing us how to bundle up in the Mooby and Abi was being adorable. New chair for baby to learn to sit up in and, of course, had to take a pic by Ivy and get a picture. Cute baby! Unattractive picture of me...to commemorate us driving to Gardnerville and opening the new can of formula, and like in a movie, it exploded all over me!! But the car was packed and we were driving so I had to just wear formula all over me until we got home! Oy!! Baby got to eat tho. This is also when we realized we lost his formula dispenser thing and needed to buy a new bigger one.
We got home to daddy and he (Daddy) tried to come help me carry the carseat (again, I was exhausted!) and SLC TSA were jerks again. What?! Let it be known that the TSA agents in Reno were super helpful and offered to help me with the carseat and get thru security quickly and easily. Yes, Reno security was LIGHT YEARS ahead of SLC's. Funny, but true. |
