I have a huge story about the actual C-Section...but not the emo energy to get back through it right now, so we will save it for another day. But I will get back to it!
Day 2 was NOT a good day for poor little Mr. T. This whole breast feeding but your milk doesn't come in until 3 days later is a cruel, cruel joke. Dr. Pete (not husband, but our funny, Jewish Pediatrician is named Dr. Pete Moskowitcz. He is highly recommended and everyone seems to love him, we had a great intro to him yesterday, but he said that it was OK for a baby of his size to go 3 days without eating milk or Similac but just the yummy colostrum. This may physically be true, but it is not emotionally true. Poor baby was getting so frustrated with working so hard on the nipple and getting so little out of it that he just had a shut down and refused to eat. He had a few of the big black pooped blowouts and just got more and more riled up. By 10 pm, he was just restless and miserable and freaking out and wouldn't even try to eat, just because he was done with it. So, we fed him Simalac. He ate it at top speed (and daddy was happy to get to feed him) and then he went straight to sleep. Then they brought him in at 1 am and 5:30 am and he ate off of one side (until he was just too frustrated again) and then we fed him Simalac again. This seemed to be a good compromise until my milk comes in, poor baby felt like we were starving him to death! During all this, I had to walk, shower, and have my dressing removed, and do everything I could to help Pete and the baby, and we had lots of visitors and I think he was very over stimulated and oogled, so by this 10pm feeding, I was exhausted and my belly and sutures really hurt. I am hopeful that we can be a little less stress filled today, but guess we'll see.
So here is Day 2 pic with him in his cute Peace/Tye Dyed Onsie!
